あっという間に1年の半分が過ぎ、暑い夏がやってきましたね。先月よりは少し
自由に街を動けるようになったのではないでしょうか。みなさんいかがお過ごしですか？
僕が Frame Tokyo のメンバーに参加させていただいてから３記事目になりますが、
今回は私がつい先日感じた、写真を撮る際に一番大切だなと思うことを少しだけ共有できたらと思います。みなさんにとって当たり前のことかもしれませんが、少しでも楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。

It is already the end of June and we are halfway through the year! You might be able to go outside more freely compared with last couple month ago, and how are you doing?
I am going to write 3rd articles since I have joined Frame Tokyo Collective as a member, and today I am going to share what I have recently felt very basic but significant for continuing street photography to you. I hope you will be able to enjoy and feel something from it.

先日とあることがきっかけで、初心に戻らなくてはという気持ちになりました。
それは Frame Tokyo メンバーとLINEトークでストリートスナップについて話合ったことでした。話し合った内容は、どうしてストリートスナップは一番魅力的だと思うか
という、Frame Tokyoを知っていただいた、或いはいつも写真を見ていただいている方からの質問に沿ったものでした。自分含むメンバー個々の意見がでながら、
最終的にまとまったのはスナップ写真を通して自分をより深く知ることができる、
スナップ写真には型にはまらない多種多様の魅力がある、写真だけに終わらない
新たなエンターテイメントの可能性が埋まっている、だから魅力的なんだということでした。
そしてストリートスナップにおいて何より大切なのは、自分の写真を好きになること、
自分の個性を見つけ理解し、スナップ写真を続けることでした。
目の前で見たものに対して何かを感じ撮ったということは、その写真の中には自分がいるということ。そしてその写真をさらに見返すことで自分の率直な気持ちがわかる。
どうしてその瞬間を切り取ろうとしたのか。美しいと思ったのか、それとも面白いと思ったのか。懐かしいと思ったのか、新しいと思ったのか。
撮る人それぞれに違った思い＝感性がある通り、写真に写る個性は千差万別です。
自分という一人の人間が備え持つ感性＝個性を自分自身で理解し追求し、余計な欲や
向上心のしがらみにとらわれず純粋に写真を撮ることの大切さを、
Frame Tokyo メンバーから改めて学びました。同時に初めて叔父からもらったカメラを手にした時の感動や純粋な気持ちに戻らなくてはと思いました。
とても単純なことですが、単純だからこそ見過ごしていたのかもしれません。
Recently, I have thought that I need to go back to the basic like when I have started street photography because of chat with Frame Tokyo Collective members. Mainly we have discussed about why street photography is so attractive more than any other categories of photography, and we have gotten this discussion theme from one of Frame Tokyo supporters. we got lots of different thoughts about that, but we finalized with thoughts, such as
Street photography is a very attractive genre of photography because we can observe / know ourselves more deeply through taking / analyzing street photography and has a wide variety of attractiveness. Moreover, street photography has a possibilities or sense of new entertainment which connects to other medias.
Also we recognized how significant to know own characters and just love what you shoot.
You take a picture because you felt something before releasing shutter. It means that there is your own characters and sensibilities on your photos, and you are going to know little bit about you, like why you wanted to shoot it. It might be like that you felt the subject was just beautiful, interesting, nostalgic or new...etc.
As each person has different feelings and sensibilities, there is infinite characters and charming points on street photography. Before chatting with Frame Tokyo Collective members about street photography, I felt I was too serious and pushing myself to grow my sensibilities and expression skills like famous street photographers in the world. However, I recognized how I need to go back to the basic and just simply trust my character and photos with no pressure of improving photo skills.
I also thought that I need to remember the feeling when I have started photography and moments when I have gotten my first camera from my uncle. I learned so many things from Frame Tokyo Collective members.
I have been loosing a really basic things, and I think because it was too simple thing.
Diversity だからこそ

Diversity とは日本語で多様性という言葉です。そして多様性とは様々な解釈がありますが、主に多種多様の人やものがそれぞれの個性や違いを活かし認識しながら、共存するという
言葉です。重複してしまいますが、人それぞれ全く違った個性があります。
写真においても全く違う個性が出ます。
写真が上手になりたい、有名な写真家のような写真が撮りたいと思う方は、僕を含めて
沢山いらっしゃると思います。もちろんできるだけ多くの写真を見て研究することは
大事ですし、構図や雰囲気の真似をし写真家の個性を突き詰めるのは感性を磨くにはすごく良いことだと思いますが、真似をしているだけでは真似で終わってしまいますよね。
写真家の写真＝個性をそのまま真似するのではなくて、真似・研究＝吸収した上で、では
自分の個性とは何だろうかと追求することが、自分らしい写真を撮る上で大事な気がします。
何が良い、悪いという基準は皆それぞれなので、1000人が写真を見て1000人が良い、
美しいとは答えません。多くの写真を見て何が素敵か、心が動いたかを自分なりに感じて、素直に自分の写真（撮ったもの、撮り方、構図などの表現）も見て好きになり、(時には嫌いになっても良いです）自分の個性って何だろうと自問しながら見つけだし、それを伸ばしてけばきっと他の人にはない写真が撮れるんではないかなと思います。
守破離、天衣無縫は僕の好きな言葉です。
写真を始めた時のような純粋な気持ちで、自分の個性を活かしていきましょう。
何事においても当てはまると思いますが、とにかくシンプルに楽しく、初心を忘れずに自分を信じてやりたいことを追求するというのが、今回のキーワードでした。

The word "Diversity"means to coexisting with people or things who have totally different sensibilities and personalities while understanding each other. Again, each person has totally different characters and sensibilities, which means that there are so many different street photographies.
Include me, I think there are so many people who have thought like you want to grow your expression photo skills and take photos like famous street photographers.
Of course it it very important to see photos as many as you can and analyze what you like them. But I feel it would be much better to observe photos what you like and consider what is your particular character, then develop it rather than just mimicking famous photographer's expression and characters.
I believe that if you do that, you will be able to take a photos that only you can take.
There is no standard that the photo is good or bad. For instance, if 1,000 people see your photo, all of them say your photo is just beautiful. it is important to simply look at many pictures and know what feel be interesting or moved with photos. Simply and purely love what you have taken ( sometimes you need to be critical about your photos) and find what is your character like what is special about you. If you do that, your photos will be something special.
If you feel be stuck with your photos, let's just go back to the basic, get back the feeling when you started photography while seeking your character.
