街を歩きスナップする際は何も考えず、直感のみで撮ることを常に心がけている。この10枚に描かれた光景には、難しいコンセプトや考えは一切なく、私の直感で捉えた、シンプルに感動したものばかりである。
When I walk, I try not to think of anything. I try to keep an empty mind and rely on my intuition to make photographs. These images are moments that I was drawn to without much reason.
Biography:
ジョージ・ガルシア（1984年、マイアミ生まれ）は、ニューヨークを拠点に活動するフリーランスの写真家。彼はほとんどの時間を歩道を歩き回り、面白い自然発生的な瞬間を探しています。彼は常にキャンディッドで撮影し、撮影した人々と話すことはほとんどありません。影響を受けた写真家は、Garry Winogrand、Matt Stuart、Gus Powell、Aaron Berger、Andre Wagnerなど。クライアントには、Vice、Konbini、AFAR Magazine、Vox.com、AirBnb、Next Level UKなどがある。2015年には、Webベースのコミュニティに代わるものとして、地元のストリートフォトグラファーが出会い、このジャンルについての考えを共有する方法として、NYC Street Photography Collective (NYC-SPC)を設立した。その目的は、ストリートを撮影するアートを広めながら、ストリートフォトグラファーがアイデア、経験、写真を交換するためのローカルコミュニティを確立することだった。
Jorge Garcia (Born Miami, 1984) is a NYC based freelance photographer. He spends most of his time wandering sidewalks looking for interesting spontaneous moments. He always shoots candidly and rarely speaks to the people he captures. Influences include Garry Winogrand, Matt Stuart, Gus Powell, Aaron Berger, and Andre Wagner to name a few. Clients include Vice, Konbini, AFAR Magazine, Vox.com, AirBnb, and Next Level UK.
In 2015, he founded the NYC Street Photography Collective (NYC-SPC) as a way for local street photographers to meet and share their thoughts on the genre as an alternative to web based communities. The goal was to establish a local community for street photographers to exchange ideas, experiences, photographs, while promoting the art of shooting street.
