Short Bio

Enrique Medina began photographing in 1980s Madrid, drawn to instinctive street shooting. After a career in architecture and time in London and São Paulo, he moved to Japan in 2018. Influenced by Daido Moriyama and Mark Cohen, his raw, high-contrast style captures fleeting urban scenes. He has held two solo shows in Tokyo, exhibited in group shows, and received a prize at Trieste Photo Days. Recently, his work has been shown at Paris Photo (2024) and Les Rencontres d’Arles (2025). His photography is a personal, street-level tribute to Japan’s vibrant life.
