東京は10月に入りようやく過ごしやすい気温になってきました。昼間は動くと少し暑いのでTシャツで、朝夜は涼しいので上にシャツなどを羽織って撮影に出掛けています。
涼しくなり写真を撮るにも適した季節になったのですが、何故か毎日のようにどんよりとした雲が空を覆っています。梅雨と違い雨が降り続くということはありませんが、安定して晴れる日がほとんどありません。今週末も台風が通過する影響で、東京は雨です。
通常であれば台風が通過した後は「台風一過」といって晴天が期待されるのですが、来週もずっと曇や雨予報です。今年は梅雨が２か月間も続いたので、このような天気ですと撮影のモチベーションがなかなか上がりません。
さて、愚痴はここら辺にして本題です。実は1か月ほど前に新しいカメラを購入しました。僕のメイン機はLeicaQです。サブでGR3を使っています。夏は「暑くて出来るだけ荷物を少なくしたい」という理由でサブ機のGR3を多用しておりました。９月になり、暑さが和らいだので久々にLeicaQを使用したところ、その使い易さ・描写の美しさに惚れ直してしまいました。しかし、そんな感動の時も束の間、連日の曇天模様に撮影意欲が湧きません。ここで気晴らしに以前から気になっていたカメラを購入してみようと思いました。さて、今回は新しく買ったカメラの感想などをレビューしたいと思います。ちなみに、購入したカメラは発売当初にプロモーション映像で話題になったX100Vです。

I control my body temperature by wearing a shirt in the early morning or night time. I feel like it is the best season to shoot street snaps, however gloomy weather has been continuing these days. I really cannot see beautiful sunny days and keep having a good motivation to take photos these days…
Now I am going to stop complaining about the weather and start writing about the theme of this article. Actually, I have big news that I got a new camera. My main camera is Leica Q, and the sub camera is RICOH GR3. I was using RICOH GR3 a lot this summer because it was so hot in the entire summer season in 2020, and I wanted to carry a lighter camera. In September, the temperature degreased, and I started to use Leica Q again. I fell in love with Leica Q again because I could notice how the camera can produce beautiful pictures and is very easy to use.
Even though I felt like that, my strong motivation for shooting photos has gone because of bad weather, and I decided to get a new camera for a new experiment. For this article, I am going to write about my opinion of the new camera. Buy the way, the new camera is Fujifilm X100Ⅴ.

１、購入した理由
The Reason why I got Fujifilm X100Ⅴ
さて何故今更X100Vを購入しようと思ったのか。僕はもともとX100Fを使っていました。2019年にストリートスナップを始めて、ストリート用に買った最初のカメラがX100Fでした。このカメラのおかげで様々な作品を残すことが出来、自分自身飛躍的に成長出来たと思います。そして、次のステップへの挑戦とご褒美を兼ねてLeicaQを購入しました。購入した時は今年はLeicaQで28mmを極めるという意気込みだったのですが・・・ちなみにX100FはLeicaQの購入資金として別の誰かのもとへ去って行きました。
以下がX100Vを購入しようと思った理由になります。
①35㎜の画角で撮影したい！
1年間慣れ親しんだ為、今でも35㎜の感覚で撮影する事が多々あります。LeicaQのクロップでも35㎜は使用できますが、それは単純に28㎜の画角を35㎜にトリミングしているだけです。実際に得られる圧縮率には差があります。ガラスの映り込み、水面のリフレクションなどの撮影では35㎜の方が撮りやすいと感じていました。
②ストロボ一体型のカメラが欲しい！
LeicaQ、GR3用にコンパクトなストロボを所有していますが、撮影の度に持ち出している訳ではありません。撮りたいイメージがある時や、夜撮影が決まっている時くらいです。
荷物は少ないに越したことはありませんし、ストロボなんて無きゃ無いで何とかなります。ただ、時々ここでスローシンクロやれば面白いのでは！という好奇心に駆られる時があります。X100Fを使用していた頃はそんな好奇心から撮影のスタンスに幅がありました。やはり簡易でもいいので気軽に使えるのは便利だったと思うようになりました。
③防塵・防滴のカメラ欲しい！
冒頭でも散々愚痴を言いましたが、今年は天気が悪いです。何度でも言いますが、今年の東京は全く晴れません！
とは言え、天気が悪いくらいで撮影を諦める訳にはいきません。雨でも雪でも街に繰り出さなければいけないのですが、やはりカメラが心配です。LeicaQは高価なのであまり濡らしたくない・・・GRは壊れやすいので濡らしたくない・・・という不安がありました。
以上のことから発売して半年ほど経ちましたがX100Vを購入することに決めました。
Now, I am going to write about why I wanted to get X100V. Actually, I used to use X100 F, and this camera was my first camera that I purchased for shooting street photography.
I think I could improve my sense of photography and photographic skills, especially I could create a lot of great works with that camera. Then I got Leica Q for myself and encouraging myself to go to the next step. When I got Leica Q, I felt like I was going to master the 28mm angle of view with Leica Q, however I got X100V. By the way, below are my specific reasons why I got X100V.
① I Want to Keep Shooting with a 35mm Angle of View!!
Because I have used a 35mm lens for a year, I feel like I am now good at a 35mm angle of view and I tend to shoot with a sense of 35mm angle of view.
The Leica Q also has a crop mode and I can shoot by 35mm angle of view, but it simply trims the 28mm angle of view to 35mm. There is a difference in the actual compression ratio. I felt that 35mm was easier to shoot when shooting reflections on the glass and water surface.
② I Want to Get a Camera that is an Integrated Strobe!
I have a compact strobe for the Leica Q and GR3, but I don't bring it out every time I shoot. It's about when I have an image I want to shoot or when I have decided to shoot at night.
It's best to have a small amount of luggage, and it's pretty good without a strobe. However, sometimes I feel that it would be interesting to do slow sync! When I was using X100F, I had a wide range of shooting stances because of my curiosity. After all, it can be simple, so I came to think that it was convenient to use it casually.
③ I Want to Get a Waterproof / Dustproof Camera!
I complained a lot at the beginning, but the weather is so bad this year. As I say many times, I really cannot see Tokyo's beautiful sunny days this year at all!
However, I cannot give up shooting because of bad weather. I have to go outside to shoot in any weather, such as rainy or snowy, but I'm still worried about the camera. I was worried that Leica Q is expensive and I don't want to get it wet too much ... GR is also fragile so I don't want to get it wet.
From the above, it has been about half a year since it was released, but I decided to purchase X100V.
２、使ってみた感想
Impression of X100Ⅴ
僕なりのストリートフォトグラファー目線で使用してみた結果、良くなった点とそうでもない点をまとめてみました。細かい仕様に関してはメーカーHPを参照下さい。
良くなった点
➀防塵・防滴機能
別売りのリングアダプターとプロテクターを装着することで防塵・防滴となるようです。僕は「Nisi UHD UVフィルター」というものを使用しています。これは、リングアダプターなしで装着できるプロテクターです。上記２アイテムを購入するより安いですし、X100Vのフォルムを崩さないデザインがとても魅力的です。これで雨の日もカメラをあまり気にすることなく撮影出来るようになりました。Amazonで売ってるので気になる方はチェックしてみて下さい。
➁タッチパネル機能
これは使ってみて便利と思いました。GR３はタッチパネルでフォーカスロック、シャッターなどを実現出来ました。X100Vはそれに加えて上スワイプや横スワイプに機能ボタンを割り付けることが出来ます。おかげでボディの操作ボタンが減り外観がすっきりシンプルになりました。操作ボタンを何度もいじる手間が省けました。
③チルトモニター機能
LeicaQにもGR3にもX100Fにも付いていなかった機能です。使うまでは必要性をあまり感じませんでしたが、いざ使ってみるととても便利です。ローアングルやハイアングルの撮影が容易になったので視点の幅が広がりました。
そうでもない点（ここからは完全に個人的主観です）
➀フィルムシュミレーション
今回新たにエテルナとクラシックネガが追加されました。個人的にカラーはクラシッククロームかアスティア、モノクロはアクロスを使用しておりRawで撮影・現像するので必要性をあまり感じませんでした。撮って出しの方であればバリエーションが増えるのでいいと思います。ただ、多すぎるのも悩みの種でもあります。
②レンズ性能
開放F2.0での描写の甘さ、オートフォーカスのスピードが改善されたみたいです。
個人的には数回の使用であまり実感を得ることは出来ませんでした。そもそも開放で撮る事はありませんし、置きピンで撮る事がほとんどです。
肝心の描写力に関しても、コンデジでは最高クラスですが、LeicaQと比べてしまうと・・・
③バッテリー性能
気のせいでしょうか・・・X100Fの頃より持ちが悪くなった気がします。
前はバッテリー3個あれば1日余裕で持ちましたが、先日使ったときは丸1日の撮影では4個は必要かなと思いました。
とは言え、僕は多い時は1日1000枚以上撮るので個人差はありますね。
Now I am going to share some positive / negative points that I felt after using X100V as a street photographer. I recommend you to look at more information about X100V through Fujifilm's website.
Positive points
➀Waterproof / Dustproof Functions
It seems that X100V will be a Waterproof / Dustproof camera when you attach an optional ring adapter and protector.I use "Nisi UHD UV Filter". This is a protector that can be installed without a ring adapter. It's cheaper than buying the above two items, and the design that doesn't break the form of the X100V is very attractive. Now you can shoot on rainy days without worrying too much about the camera. It is sold on Amazon, so if you are interested, please check it out.
➁ Touch Panel
I thought it was useful. If I think about GR3, I remember that I can lock a focus and shutter speed by using a touch panel. Compared with that, X100V allows users to set favorite functions and use them by swiping the panel up, right and left.
Because of that, the outlook of the camera seems more simple and stylish, and I do not need to use fiction buttons many times.
③ Tilt monitor function
This is a feature that neither the Leica Q nor the GR3 nor the X100F had. I didn't really feel the need for it until I used it, but I felt that it's very convenient when I tried it. Since it became easier to shoot with low and high angles, I could try many different kinds of angle of views.
Negative points ( My Personal Point of Views )
① Eterna and Classic Negatives are newly added this time. Personally, I use classic chrome or Astia for color, and ACROS for monochrome, and I shoot and develop with Raw, so I didn't really feel the need of Eterna and Classic Negatives.
If you are a photographer who does not usually develop with Lightroom or any kinds of Softwares for developing, I think it's good because there are more variations. However, too much is also a source of trouble.
② Lens Performance
It seems that the depiction performance at full aperture F2.0 and the speed of autofocus have been improved. Personally, I couldn't really feel it after using X100V several times. I don't shoot at full aperture, and most of the time I mostly shoot with focus lock.
In terms of depiction performance, I thought X100V has good performance compared with other compact digital cameras, but I didn't feel it was so good when compared to Leica Q which is my main camera.
③ Battery Performance
I am not sure exactly but I felt that X100V wastes battery much quicker than X100F.
When I was using X100F before, I could take photos with 3 batteries for a day. However, when I was using X100V on recent days, I realized that I need to have 4 batteries if I shoot the entire day. It might be only me because I usually take over 1,000 photos when I am feeling good, and I think it depends on photographers.
３、実践

さて、ここで作例を見てみましょう。参考までに撮影データを載せます。Raw現像では露出、シャドウ、ハイライトなど諧調項目を微調整しましたが、色関連の調整は行わずカメラプロファイルのフィルムシミュレーションのみで色を決定しています。
Now I am going to share my photos that were taken by X100V.
I usually adjust balance of exposure, shadow, highlights..etc by Raw processing, and I don't adjust the colors and only determine the colors by film simulation of the camera profile.

クラシッククローム、クラシックネガに関してはシャドウ・ハイライト部分の色が特徴的かと思います。クラシッククロームの方が割と自然な感じかと思います。
アスティアは割とコントラスト高めで原色が多いカラー写真に向いている気がします。それと、夜の撮影でも街明かりの色を強調してくれるので向いていると思います。
アクロスは通常の白黒モードより諧調が豊かとの事です。僕は割とコントラスト高めのモノクロが好きなのでアクロスで撮っている方がパキッとしない感じに仕上がるのでこのモードを使用しています。
For classic chrome and classic negatives, I think the color of the shadows and highlights is characteristic. I think the classic chrome feels more natural.I feel that Astia is suitable for color photography with a relatively high contrast and many primary colors. Also, it emphasizes the color of the city lights even when shooting at night, so I think it is suitable.
Across is said to have a richer tone of gradation than normal black and white mode. I like monochrome with a relatively high contrast, so I use this mode.
４、まとめ
Conclusion
未だ使用してから数日しか経っていませんが、１番に感じたことは操作性が良くなったという事です。チルトモニターや防塵防滴機能が追加され様々なシーンでの撮影が便利になりました。それと、やはりストロボ一体型というのはとても便利だなと感じました。設定一つで発光出来るので、不図した瞬間に対応出来ます。作例に上げている写真も普通に撮ってつまらなかったのでスローシンクロで撮影してみました。
描写に関しては個人的にはそこまで大きな変化は無いのかなと思います。風景やポートレートを撮るわけではないので描写力より操作性を重視してしまいます。
あとは価格です・・・確かにX100Fの頃より数段良くなってはいますが、価格も数段アップしています。
もしストリートスナップを始めようと思っている方が、そこそこ写るカメラの検討しているのであれば、X100Fで十分だと思います。俺は雨風の撮影が大好きだ！とかロー・ハイアングル大好きだ！という犯罪すれすれな方がいればX100Vの方がいいですね。

It has been just a few days since I have used X 100V, but what I have felt the best thing about X100V is that the operability of the camera has much improved from X100F and other cameras. This is because of adding many good functions, such as tilt monitors and waterproof/dustproof, and now I can shoot in any situation, such as rainy and snow days.
Moreover, I felt that it is really convenient and useful if the strobe is already attached in the body of cameras. Since it can emit light with just one setting, it can respond to unplanned moments. The photos given in the example were also taken with slow sync because I felt that if I took normally, it would be boring.
For depiction performance, I felt that there is no difference with X100F. I do not take portraits and landscape photography, so I emphasize operability more than depiction performance.
Now the things we need to consider is the price of the camera. I can definitely say that X100V is much better than X100F, however X100V is much more expensive than X100F.
If you are considering starting street photography and get a new camera, it is sufficient to have X100F. If you are eager to shoot in rainy days and with low and high angles of view, I recommend you to get X100V.
