Japan

Photographer: Evagelia Tzekou

Country: Denmark

The trip in Japan was a trip I always wanted to do. The first days in Tokyo I was overwhelmed and I couldn’t take photos. It was not due to jet lag. Neon signs, huge screens with advertisements, music everywhere and Japanese on a hurry for their work. This is Japan the way I saw it.

Biography:

I’m a street and documentary photographer, based in Copenhagen. My background in comic design helps me focus on content and narrative, while I’m always trying to expose the humorous side of life. My work has been exhibited in Greece, UK, Spain and Australia and has been featured in several magazines. I got an honourable mention in documentary photography, at the Julia Margaret Cameron awards in 2019. I am a member of “Photopia group” and of “Womeninstreet”.
